Description
Sarah Scout is a commercial gallery representing outstanding early to mid-career artists with critically engaged conceptual practices. Sarah Scout presents a changing program of contemporary art exhibitions and represents its selected artists in a range of local and international contexts.
The gallery is located on Crossley Street within Von Haus – an art, design and retail hub based in one of Melbourne’s few remaining Georgian buildings. Originally built by the butcher William Crossley in 1847, the building housed one of Victoria’s pre-eminent colonial artists, Eugene von Guerard, who lived and worked in the building in the 1850s. Sarah Scout shares these iconic Melbourne premises with the café Von Haus, jewellers Glitzern and fashion house S!X.
