Description

La Trobe's Cottage was the home of Victoria's first Governor. Brought to Port Phillip by Superintendent (later Lieutenant-Governor) Charles Joseph La Trobe in 1839, the fascinating prefabricated cottage was originally located on a 12.5 acre estate across the river at Jolimont. It now lies nestled on a rise near the Royal Botanic Gardens and the Shrine.

Take a tour of the Cottage and learn about the life of Victoria's first Governor and his family.
