Description

The National Sports Museum, located at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), features thousands of sporting artefacts and extensive multimedia displays that showcase the great moments, people and events in Australia’s sporting history.

The museum includes a number of permanent and temporary exhibitions focused on Australian football, cricket, Olympic Games and a range of other sports and issues of the day. It also houses Champions: Thoroughbred Racing – a permanent gallery dedicated to thoroughbred racing and Sport Australia Hall of Fame, Australian Cricket Hall of Fame and Australian Football Hall of Fame.

Also included is the MCG story and an extensive interactive gallery (Game On) for kids of all ages. More than just a museum, it captures the spirit of Australian sporting life and relives the moments that have shaped Australia’s rich sporting traditions and cultural heritage.

The experience can be combined with a tour of the MCG. A combined admission ticket can be purchased at the reception desk.
