Description

A theatrical experience brings former Australian football great James Hird to life in 3D.

This permanent addition to Australia's Game brings one of the game's most loved ambassadors face-to-face with his audience as he discusses the highs and lows, setbacks and triumphs of his incredible career.

James Hird offers an emotional and moving account of his life as a player and captain of Essendon as he stands in front of the bench at the end of the 2007 home and away season facing retirement.

Using the latest in simulated hologram technology, audiences will feel they are actually in the room with Hird as he discusses his career.

More than just a museum - the National Sports Museum seeks to capture the spirit of Australian sporting life - and relive the moments that have shaped Australia's rich sporting traditions.
