With more than 75 events over nine days and nights, this year's Festival is a true celebration of the riches of jazz.
The unparalleled 2009 Melbourne International Jazz Festival will include six world-premieres and ten Australian premieres with a rich program to delight everyone from dedicated jazz enthusiasts to families and first-time concertgoers.
Celebrating the dynamic spirit of jazz, the Festival will host iconic masters including Charlie Haden, Bill Frisell, and Joshua Redman as well as Katie Noonan, Paul Grabowsky, Kate Ceberano and many more contemporary virtuosos from Australia and beyond.
There are free concerts at Federation Square, Jazz for Kids, Masterclasses , Sound Walks at the NGV, Jazz on Film at ACMI, late night jam sessions, and much much more.
