Melbourne MusicJazz, punk, rock and pop stream from bars, pubs and stadiums across Melbourne as part of the city’s vivacious live music scene.

Intimate venues in Bennetts Lane and Goldie Place specialise in swing, blues, jazz and soul, while hardcore punk and metal is alive on Elizabeth Street and venues like the Arthouse.

Much of Melbourne’s live music is free or inexpensive. At places like Ding Dong Lounge you can even stumble upon ‘secret’ shows by big-name artists.

Blockbuster concert events rock the city at Etihad Stadium, Sidney Myer Music Bowl, Festival Hall, Rod Laver Arena and the MCG.

And Melbourne Music Week is the City of Melbourne's very own festival dedicated to supporting the local music scene.
