Melbourne Greeter Service

Discover from a local what locals love about Melbourne

Melbourne Greeter ServiceThe Melbourne Greeter Service is a free half-day orientation of the city for visitors and tourists to Melbourne.

The Service is one of the many ways the City of Melbourne welcomes people from around the world and across the nation to Australia’s most multicultural city.

The Melbourne Greeters are enthusiastic, trained volunteers who are keen to share their knowledge of the city and their passion for Melbourne. Bookings are essential and required at least two days in advance.

The Melbourne Greeter Service offers you:

  • a free half day orientation with a volunteer who speaks your language and shares your interests;
  • multilingual orientations in a variety of languages other than English;
  • an insight to Melbourne from a local’s perspective;
  • an opportunity to explore Melbourne City by tram or on foot;
  • group sizes of 1 to 4 people; and
  • orientations in English at 10am - 7 days a week (except Good Friday and Christmas Day)
